Young Kim and Andrew Yoon, CFA, join Portfolio Management Team at Axiom Investors

Axiom Investors is pleased to welcome two portfolio managers to our Emerging Markets Equity Investment Team, Young Kim and Andrew Yoon, CFA.

Young Kim joins as Senior Vice President, Co-Lead Portfolio Manager for Axiom’s Emerging Markets Equity Strategy alongside Co-Lead Portfolio Managers José Morales and Andrew Jacobson, and Co-Portfolio Manager, Donald Elefson. Prior to Axiom, Young spent a decade at Columbia Threadneedle, where he was Senior Portfolio Manager for the Columbia Emerging Markets Core and Emerging Markets Opportunity Strategy and Lead Manager for the Columbia Threadneedle Emerging Markets ESG Strategy. Before Columbia Threadneedle, Young worked in Singapore for Marathon Asset Management as well as for a venture capital firm focused on investing in technology enabled emerging Asian enterprises. Earlier in his career, Young was a software engineer for technology start-ups. Young holds an MBA from Harvard Business School as well as an MEng and SB in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT. Young is fluent in Korean and conversant in Japanese.

Andrew Yoon, CFA, joins as Vice President, Co-Portfolio Manager for Axiom’s Emerging Markets World Equity Strategy alongside Lead Manager, Andrew Jacobson, and Co-Portfolio Manager, José Morales. Prior to Axiom, Andrew was with Putnam Investments for the past 10 years where he was Assistant Portfolio Manager on the Putnam Emerging Markets Fund as well as Co-Portfolio Manager on the Putnam International Capital Opportunities Fund. Andrew joined Putnam after graduating Phi Beta Kappa, Tau Beta Pi from MIT with an SB in Economics and Management Science with a minor in Chinese. Andrew is fluent in Korean and conversant in Mandarin.
