Axiom’s 25 Year Timeline

1998

Axiom is founded by Andrew Jacobson and 3 colleagues with $200M in AUM with the goal of delivering strong performance through differentiated dynamic growth stock selection in an investor led, client aligned culture of partnership.

1999

Axiom achieves strong outperformance having built up strong positions in leading growth stocks during the turbulence associated with the Asian and Russian crises of the late 1990’s.

2000

Axiom effectively navigates the end of the dot-com bubble having achieved positive outperformance during the boom thanks to our active risk management processes.

2001

Axiom staff watch the 9/11 attacks unfold in real-time from the TV on our trading desk. Later that year, Enron filed for bankruptcy. Axiom’s active risk management and focus on sustainable growth helps protect performance.

2003

Axiom participates in the sharp market recoveries that surprisingly coincide with onset of the first Iraq war. Axiom moves from Midtown Manhattan to Greenwich CT with 15 team members. AUM passes $1B milestone.

2004

The Axiom Global Equity Strategy is launched supporting continued investment in the breadth of research coverage.

2005

Axware converted from macros in Excel workbooks to an SQL Database.

2006

Axiom launches the US Small Cap Equity Strategy to further expand coverage of emerging dynamic growth stocks and remain ahead of the curve.

2007

Axiom’s dedicated Emerging Market equity strategy is launched to meet the needs of clients seeking dedicated growth expertise in markets historically dominated by macro- and value- oriented investors. AUM passes the $10B milestone.

2008

Axiom’s navigates the global financial crisis as both the housing bubble and the commodity super cycle simultaneously burst again underscoring the importance of active risk management.

2009

Axiom moves to its current location in Greenwich expanding its office to over 20,000 square feet to accommodate company growth. Our move into the new offices coincides almost exactly with the bottom of the post-GFC lows.

2010

Axiom’s first UCIT fund is launched as our work with non-US based investors continues to growth reaching over 20% of AUM.

2014

Axiom invests further in its depth and breadth of dynamic growth stock coverage to meet evolving client needs launching three new strategies: International Small Cap, EM World, and Concentrated Global Growth.

2016

Axiom invests in building out our range of institutional investment vehicles launching Axiom’s first CIT to work with US based DB/DC plans. Axiom reaches 50 teammates.

2019

Axiom becomes a UNPRI signatory and Axiom enhances our Axware database to provide greater transparency on company engagements.

2020

Axiom navigates the COVID-19 pandemic adding to technologically favored dynamic growth stocks we feel are positioned to outperform during the crisis. Transition team successfully to virtual and then hybrid work.

2021

Axiom’s original International Equity Strategy reaches 25-year track record milestone returning 8.8x the MSCI ACWI ex USA over the time period.

2023

Axiom reaches 25-year firm anniversary with over 400 clients globally, 11 strategies, 61 teammates including 26 partners and nearly $18B in total assets.
