José Gerardo Morales named emerging market co-portfolio manager at Axiom Investors
Global asset manager Axiom Investors announces that José Gerardo Morales has been named co-portfolio manager of the Axiom Emerging Markets Equity Strategy and the Axiom Emerging Markets World Equity Strategy. Morales assumes full co-portfolio manager responsibilities. The existing portfolio management teams, including lead portfolio managers Christopher Lively, CFA, and Andrew Jacobson, CFA, of the Emerging Markets and Emerging Markets World Equity Strategies respectively, remain the same.

With over 20 years of investing experience, Morales joins Axiom Investors following a nine year tenure at Mirae Asset Global Investments in New York and London. He served in multiple capacities as both the head of emerging markets for Latin America and EMEA and as portfolio manager/CIO of emerging markets and global equities. Morales helped launch multiple successful emerging market portfolios and had oversight of over $2.5 billion in assets under management at the firm. Prior to Mirae Asset Global Investments, he was head of emerging European equities at Pictet Asset Management and held similar positions at WestLB Mellon Asset Management and HSBC Asset Management. Morales holds an MBA from Georgetown University with a focus on investment analysis and international business, and a bachelor’s degree in finance from George Mason University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
