Jonathan Ellis, CFA named Director of Research
Axiom Investors is pleased to announce the promotion of Jonathan Ellis, one of the firm’s partners, to the newly created position of Director of Research. Jonathan has over 20 years of industry experience, of which the last eight have been covering industrials and materials as part of Axiom’s global sector research analyst team. In his new role, Jonathan will oversee the global sector research analyst team and work in close collaboration with the entire investment team to ensure a unified focus on our investment philosophy and process in the interest of enhancing Axiom’s longer term investment performance.
Jonathan will also serve as Co-Portfolio Manager for the Axiom Concentrated Global Growth Equity Strategy. The Strategy, a high conviction portfolio of 20-40 holdings, was launched in collaboration with a long-term client and leverages Axiom’s core expertise of investing in Dynamic Growth equities. Approaching its five year track record at the end of 2019, the Strategy utilizes Axiom’s firm-wide, fundamental, Dynamic Growth investment philosophy and process and is led by Axiom’s founder and Chief Investment Officer, Andrew Jacobson, CFA and Co-Managed by Bradley Amoils. The Strategy is an integral part of Axiom’s curated suite of strategy offerings and is designed to achieve the firm’s client’s investment objectives through a portfolio of best in class, global growth stocks with active share of 90%.
Jonathan reports directly to Andrew Jacobson. Through the addition of the Director of Research role, Andrew can further focus on his responsibilities in leading all investment-related activities within the firm. “Jon has been a key contributor to many facets of our business, including fostering our culture of excellence and accountability, contributing to our high quality fundamental research and furthering our long-term focus on outcomes.”
Prior to joining Axiom, Jonathan was a Director, Senior Equity Analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Prior to that role he was an Associate at Pershing LLC. Jonathan holds a bachelor’s degree in economics, with honors from Lafayette College and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School.
